Uplifted by the collision of continents, the jagged limestone peaks of New Guinea’s Central Range rise to nearly 5000 meters in height. The alpine vegetation of these remote mountain ridges and valleys are home to a rich assortment of endemic plants and animals, many of which are new to science.
