Although this Wrap-around Spider (Talthybia depressa) spins a large orb web every night, by morning it retreats to a nearby branch to hide from diurnal predators. The lichen and bark-like patterns on its back, coupled with its remarkably flat profile, make it appear almost seamless with the tree on which it rests. Sabah, Malaysia (Borneo).
