Although most crab spiders of the genus Phrynarachne are famous for the mimicry of bird dung, this recently discovered species (P. dreepy) has its own unique impersonation – it resembles the whitish lichens (epiphylls) that discolor the surface of some rainforest leaves. To enhance its disguise, it decorates the leaf with a series of silk patches that resemble more patches of lichen. Sarawak, Malaysia (Borneo).
